Original, unique and above all sustainable
KAURI watches have been designed to be original, unique and above all durable, notably through an innovative design of the case composed of a steel structure ensuring the water resistance of the watch as well as the attachment of the bracelet so that the wood only adorns the watch.
Every step in the design of this second model, from design to prototyping and technical drawings, is carried out at the KAURI workshop located in Plan-les-Ouates (Geneva). The wooden casing is also made there, as is the final custom assembly.
The DUO38 skeleton has been adorned with diamonds. Constantly seeking new combinations of materials, this watch perfectly combines an organic material (wood), a mineral material (diamond) with 316L steel, whose technical qualities are well-known in the world of watchmaking.
Wood species used: -Bruyère Burl, the wood used to make smoking pipes, has a very aesthetic "flame" grain. -Swiss Ebony is a walnut wood sourced from sustainably managed Swiss forests. It follows an innovative compression process that gives it characteristics similar to natural ebony, hence the name "Swiss ebony".
