Its 5N rose gold dial combines five rare techniques: engraving, Grand Feu enamel, gem-setting, sculpted mother-of-pearl, and featherwork. A fire adornment for the night
She enters the room. Silence. Gazes freeze, time stands still. Gala embodies this presence, inspired by the most sumptuous ball gowns, sewn by the greatest couturiers: accumulations, play on textures, unashamed opulence.
TAOS pushes the boundaries of artistic craftsmanship here, bringing together for the first time five precious techniques on a single dial: engraving, Grand Feu enamel, gem-setting, sculpted mother-of-pearl and featherwork. A world of rare materials and gestures, where bursts and shades of purple, pink and deep garnet echo one another.
On a 5N rose gold base, the textures interact: domed and hand-painted mother-of-pearl gadroons, engraved gold ropes, diamonds set like so many precious stones, enhanced with Grand Feu enamel with amethyst highlights. Added to this are natural feathers, meticulously cut and set in gold, giving the dial an unprecedented visual intensity. This featherwork—a first for the artisans of the Olivier Vaucher Workshops—is an exceptional challenge on this scale, with the final thickness of the dial not exceeding 1.3 mm despite the richness of the materials.
The watch is powered by the exclusive Drapé caliber, a Swiss movement whose finely engraved bridges evoke fabric ruffles. More than 150 hours of hand engraving transform this mechanism into a true masterpiece, with a unique sculptural softness.
Gala thus becomes a fabric of time, where metals, fire and watchmaking expertise combine to reinvent the art of the dial in all its splendor.
