Every curve of this watch has a meaning, and every component a story. The watch is technical, modern. Its construction is artisanal. The decorations are handcrafted, and the components are traditionally made on ancestral machines: Hauser time clock, Schaublin lathe, guilloche lathe.
The dial is an artistic expression, it is distinguished by 3 levels, 3 shades and 3 textures. Very worked and keeping a simple aesthetic, it reads like this:
The hours and minutes are displayed on a white enamel dial (white gold base), off-center at noon, and proudly displaying the hand-engraved KHEMEA logo.
The eye is then drawn to the left of this dial, to the silver moon carried by an aventurine disc. This has a clean line; the moon appears under the enamel dial presented previously and indicates its age using a half-moon insert.
Opposite this moon, and now to the right of the enamel dial, is another curiosity: a second disc in aventurine. This is a poetic date.
On the second level, the guilloché. Simple and organic. On a silver base, it is handmade.
The Tourbillon is subtly revealed through the guilloché opening. This is held by a bridge that carries the character of the dial, a sensual, characterful, yet very understated shape. This shadow, sometimes shiny, sometimes black (polished blocked), mystically echoes the curves of the base of the logo.
The back of the watch is a technical dial. It's always nice to turn your watch over when winding it, to see the ratchet turn and the pawls move.
The direct view of the movement also allows you to view the power reserve indication, which uses a cone differential, for the greatest aesthetic pleasure of watchmaking! This differential was invented by George Daniels and allows a natural display of the reserve at a small angle.
On the upper part, the ratchet is proudly highlighted by two very elaborate pawls.
Below, the hand-grained bridges finely bear two chatons, one on the central wheel and the other on the power reserve wheel.
This watch skillfully combines art, technique, and reliability.
The name of the watch takes on its full meaning here; ARKHEA, from "ARKHÈ" designating the origin, the foundation, the beginning... The first watch imagined and produced by a woman, at Khemea.
Designed and crafted by independent watchmaker Shona Taine, this watch is an artistic creation filled with emotion.
