The artist's story
Brice de Warlincourt is a Geneva-based artist with a unique background, passionate about origami since childhood thanks to Masahiro Chatani Sensei. After studying ethnology and several years of violin making, he developed a unique style that blends origami and violin-making techniques.
He creates paintings from folded and painted paper, composed of bas-reliefs where the paint subtly transforms the motifs. His approach, which departs from classic origami, explores multiple sheets at once to experiment with shapes, colors, and concepts.
Brice uses a variety of ink and paint techniques, often coloring both sides of the paper to create a play on transparency. The resulting reliefs add a distinctive visual and tactile dimension to his works.
